Anything that involves my character that has some plot to it will be shown here in rich detail (Or sloppy detail, depending on how tired I am. =P). I'm not sure how I'm going to organize the stories, as I plan to progress different storylines at different times and/or intervals. (Provided, of course, that I partake in more than one storyline.)
Chapter 0: Enter the Swordking
(The "prestory" of my character. Not yet discovered/known about.)
Chapter 1: Ale and Royalty
The few years of bounty hunting began to have a negative effect on Daniel. Though his skill with the blade is great, he is not invincible to the reoccurring wounds he took from battle. His torso has been marked with numerous scars, shown by thin patches of his oddly colored fur. However, his limbs and clothing seem as though they have never seen any hard labor in their lifetime. The condition of his clothing is explained by repeated visits to tailors throughout the land, but there is no known reason for his "clean" arms and legs. Alas, he began growing concern for the condition of his body, not wishing to risk permanent injury of his organs as it were. He decided to do less lethal jobs to rest his scarred and hardened body. At the time of his decision, he had stumbled upon a tavern named "The Tavern and Inn of the Lonely". A quaint place in the country side, though one that would reveal to be less peaceful in the future. A welcome feeling was about the air, but Daniel would not know this feeling for he did not possess a heart, or emotions to be exact. A neutral, blank gaze has always shown on his face for as long as he could remember. Nevertheless, his pastime of drinking alcohol, checking bounty lists, and listening to the many stories of travelers, local townspeople, and tavern staff alike made this the perfect place for him. However, this part of the land was free from government, yet had a prohibition of any bounty searching, slavery, and illegal trade. This did not affect his other two activities.
He ordered a glass of the house's own brand of red wine from a wise looking equine who was servicing the bar at the time. While his drink was being prepared, a quick survey of the tavern shown that this was one of the more successful places that he has visited, complete with a kitchen, several rooms for guest, a entertainment stage, garden, and a hot spring which was all run by bartenders, chefs, and bodyguards. A classy place also had to be an expensive one, he thought just as the bartender served his drink. A few pieces of silver just short of valuing a gold coin was asked in return. As expected, Daniel was ready to pay handsomely for simple pleasures, handing the payment to the tender. The price was well worth it as the wine was of high quality. As he sat at the bar, drinking and listening to idle conversation, he noticed a bulletin board with a "help wanted" notice on it. He got up to go and read the advertisement and discovered that this very place was looking for another bartender. This was the perfect opportunity for his well being as well as his finances. Taking the paper off the board, he spoke to the tender about the position. The tender instructed Daniel to see the owner, Amya, and be interviewed by her. Immediately he headed straight toward the office under the verbal direction of the tender and barged in without warning. The female wolf inside panicked and began to shout for a guard to help her, but after showing her the notice about the position and asking if she was the owner of the tavern, she began to calm down, however, only slightly. Throughout the interview, Amya had pointed out that he would be more suited to being a bodyguard even though a position was not available and suggested that he try other places, but Daniel was as adamant, just as his emotions, about obtaining this job. Caving into his stubbornness, she gave him the job and a room to stay in, as was also given to other staff.
The serving of drink and food was no hard task for the strong and fit fox, even with a steady flow of discounted wine entering his body. For two seasons he worked hard and efficiently as the tavern found new and more customers with each day. Then one day, the owner decided to give the establishment a complete remodeling and expansion. The project itself would take several months to complete, and the staff would not have work until it was completed. Upon the last day of work until the carpenters and architects arrived, a special notice on the bulletin board was placed up. It was another advertisement asking to hire people, this time it was from Jazalyn at Artica Manor. The position of bodyguard caught Daniel's attention, as it was a previously suggestion position by his current boss. (To be continued...)
